How Does the Pixo Aura Compare to Alternative Aspire Pod Kits?

The Pixo series is relatively new, with the original Aspire Pixo kit released in October 2024. Only nine months later, we had the release of the Aspire Pixo Neo and now in the summer of 2025, we have the Pixo Aura on our doorsteps.

Last year, Aspire took digital vape technology to the latest levels with a four-theme UI display on the first Pixo, in addition to user-friendly features like a 7-day puff record and an HD touchscreen (the first MTL and RDTL of its kind to utilise this feature).

It adjusted either manually between 5-30W or with their Smart Mode. A battery of 1100mAh with 2A fast charging for up to four days of use redefined the brand and its recognition as a leader in MTL kits.

Next up was the Aspire Pixo Neo, another 2A fast charging kit with a slightly bigger 1300mAh battery than the classic Pixo, the same two power modes and one less UI theme with three different coloured digital displays to highlight the key settings. Note that this can be turned off with four presses of the fire button

In terms of customisation, both kits have an adjustable side airflow sliding switch, which is firm and secure. Both support the Pixo pods with easy side fill systems and coils that range from 0.4 to 1.2 Ohms.

Now that we have the Pixo Aura, we can see a clear difference – no screen and a cheaper alternative that is less gimmick and simply a straightforward device for any nicotine strength or preference.

The major difference with the Pixo Aura is the battery indicator, which is explained in greater detail below in the appearance and build quality section. Designed with MTL and RDL vapers in mind, it is efficient, has a similar 1300mAh battery to the Neo and longer lasting due to no screen or menu adjustments.

As with each of the three devices, the coils are fixed so once the life ends on the coil, vapers will need to dispose of the pod safely and swap with a fresh one.

Who Is the Aspire Pixo Aura Best Suited For?

The Aspire Pixo Aura will work for any vaper that is not a cloud chaser. And even for those who seek big vape clouds, it still gives out a large amount of vapour when vaped RDL with the lower resistance 0.4 Ohm coil.

If you are switching from disposable vapes that are now banned or cigarettes that cost too much and contain tobacco, the Pixo Aura is a cheaper alternative that is very easy to use.

Better yet, it does not contain any complicated settings or menu features to adjust or think about. Straightforward vaping at its finest.

The wattage is fixed. The pod coils are fixed. With the Pixo Aura, it automatically adjusts to the vape coil preinstalled inside the pod. Therefore, you do not need to worry about coil changes or knowing which wattage is correct.

All you need to do is pick your favourite high PG vape juice, nic salt, or high VG vape juice (with the lower resistance RDL coil) and away you go.

How to Use the Aspire Pixo Aura Vape Kit: Simple Setup Guide

Whether you’ve just picked up the Aspire Pixo Aura as your first vape, or you’re moving from disposables or another pod kit, this quick setup guide will help you get started smoothly:

  1. Take all the contents out of the box and fully charge the device if it is not 100% already for first use.
  2. Fill the pod via the side fill plug by removing the stopper and adding your vape juice of choice.
  3. Close the plug and let it sit for 5-10 minutes.
  4. Insert the pod until it clicks into place.
  5. After the first puff, adjust the airflow using the switch on the side until you get the right hit.

How Does it Vape?

Based on flavour, smoothness and density, the Pixo Aura is admirable and delivers excellent consistency. The adjustable side airflow, like with the previous two devices is flexible adjusting to various preferences. In addition, the coils have a long lifespan and offer virtually no leaks.

With four different pod resistances to pick from, vapers can choose between 0.4 Ohm, 0.6 Ohm or 1.0 Ohm. This level of versatility is always welcome and a plus.

Battery Life and Charging Experience

Whether you are at work all day, off to a party or stopping over for a two-day trip, the long duration of the battery also adds to the vape experience.

However, compared to the previous two Pixo devices that were 2A fast charging, the Pixo Aura is 1A, so takes a little bit longer.

Bear in mind that because this is predominantly an MTL device with the opportunity to also vape RDL, and with no screen sapping the battery level, it lasts longer than the 1300mAh Pixo Neo.

Appearance and Build Quality Overview

One of the most impressive standout features of the Pixo Aura is the hidden battery charge percentage level display. This appears when you pop in the charger, go to remove or attach the pod and puffing on the device. Other than that, the digital display is hidden from view, which is a unique and exciting feature.

Seven different colour schemes are bold and stylish, with Sakura Pink great for those who love the warmth and brightness, or you can go for Carbon Black, a professional look at work. Throw options like Tribal Orange or Crimson Red into the mix for a nice collection.

The Type-C charging port is located at the bottom with the airflow slider on the side. At the top, there is space for the 2ml pod with a non-replaceable coil.

What are the Advantages of the Aspire Pixo Aura?

  • Compatible with the Pixo series of pods.
  • Internal 1300mAh battery – deceptively big for the size of the kit.
  • Hidden battery percentage remaining display.
  • Pod LED lighting system.
  • Compact shape and user-friendly design.
  • Good range of coil resistances.

Any Disadvantages with This Compact Refillable Pod Vape?

  1. The side airflow switch is useful, but a little bit stiff to push.
  2. The fixed wattage is not for everyone, as some vapers prefer more customisation.
  3. Only one initial pod is available with the kit.

Verdict

The Pixo Aura by Aspire is another reliable and transportable device to carry around and vape as needed. Although there is very little customisation because of the fixed power output, it delivers as a lightweight vape that produces quality flavour. A device that provides a smooth MTL or RDL vape with high PG e-liquids or nic salts. It is fuss-free and easy to fill with vape juice. A few features to decide whether it is the right device for you but overall, another high-quality and affordable pod kit from Aspire.
