Further Information
If you already get on well with a Caliburn G3, G4 or G5, the GPP Alpha pod is the upgrade worth knowing about. It's Uwell's second-generation take on the G Pod Platform, built to hold its flavour for longer and go further between refills than the standard GPP or G3 pod it replaces on the shelf. Same click-in fit, same four resistance options, but with a mesh coil engineered for a longer working life and a mouthpiece that's noticeably softer against the lips during an all-day vape.
We stock these in 0.4ohm, 0.6ohm, 0.9ohm and 1.2ohm, all at the UK-compliant 2ml fill, sold in packs of four so you're never caught out when a coil finally gives up.
Why the Alpha Version?
Uwell's original GPP pod was already a solid performer. The Alpha revision, which Uwell markets under its AlphaCore coil technology, aims to fix the two things regular pod users complain about most: flavour fading a few days in, and pods dying earlier than expected. The mesh coil sits under a soft-touch TPU mouthpiece that's a genuine step up from the harder plastic tip on older Caliburn pods, and the pod shell itself uses a tightened seal that cuts down on the sweating and leaking that side-fill pods are sometimes prone to.
None of that changes how you use it. Fill it, prime it, click it into your device, and vape as normal.
Features
- Longer-life AlphaCore mesh coil - The coil inside each pod is built to hold flavour clarity for more refills before it needs replacing, so you're not chasing that "just opened" taste after a couple of days.
- Built-in coil, no separate parts to buy - There's nothing to unscrew or swap out. Once a pod's coil is spent, the whole pod gets replaced, which keeps maintenance simple.
- Four resistances for different styles - 0.4ohm and 0.6ohm suit a looser, warmer restricted-lung draw. 0.9ohm and 1.2ohm suit a tighter mouth-to-lung style closer to smoking.
- Soft-touch mouthpiece - The TPU tip is more comfortable for repeated use through the day than the firmer mouthpieces on earlier Caliburn pods.
- 2ml TPD-compliant capacity - Every version we sell holds 2ml, keeping it within UK tank and pod limits under the Tobacco and Related Products Regulations.
- Fits the Caliburn GPP platform - Built for Uwell's G Pod Platform devices, including current-generation Caliburn G3, G4 and G5 kits.

Looking for the standard (non-Alpha) GPP pod or the older G3 pod instead? You'll find both here: Uwell Caliburn GPP Replacement Pods and Uwell Caliburn G3 Replacement Pods.
Which Resistance Should You Choose?
- 0.4ohm - Best for a looser, warmer restricted-lung draw with bigger vapour. Pair with lower-strength 50/50 or 60VG e-liquid.
- 0.6ohm - A middle-ground option for vapers who want more vapour than a tight MTL draw but still want strong flavour. Works well with 50/50 e-liquid or lower-strength nic salts.
- 0.9ohm - A balanced mouth-to-lung pod that suits most vapers coming from smoking. Good with nic salts and standard 50/50 e-liquid.
- 1.2ohm - The tightest draw of the four, closest to a cigarette pull. Best matched with 10mg or 20mg nic salts for vapers who want a stronger hit per puff.
If you're switching from cigarettes and unsure where to start, 0.9ohm or 1.2ohm with a nic salt e-liquid is the closest match to a smoking sensation.
Best E-Liquids For Uwell Caliburn GPP Alpha Pods
These pods are built for thinner e-liquids that wick quickly through a mesh coil. Very thick high-VG juice isn't recommended, especially in the higher-resistance pods, as it can wick slowly and shorten pod life.
For 0.9ohm and 1.2ohm pods, VSAVI Nicotine Salts are a natural match if you want a smooth, cigarette-like hit without a harsh throat catch.
For 0.4ohm and 0.6ohm pods, a 50/50 e-liquid at a lower nicotine strength will give you more vapour per puff without overloading the coil. Browse our full nicotine salt range here.
How To Fill And Prime Your GPP Alpha Pod
- Remove the pod from your device.
- Snap off the black mouthpiece to expose the fill port.
- Fill slowly with your chosen e-liquid, keeping level below the max fill line.
- Close the mouthpiece firmly until it clicks back into place.
- Leave the pod to stand for 5 to 10 minutes before vaping so the coil fully saturates.
- Click the pod back into your device and vape as normal.
Skipping the priming step on a fresh pod is the most common cause of a burnt taste on the first few puffs, so it's worth the short wait.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are Uwell Caliburn GPP Alpha Pods the same as standard GPP pods?
No. The Alpha version uses an upgraded AlphaCore mesh coil designed for a longer working life and steadier flavour, plus a softer TPU mouthpiece. They fit the same devices as standard GPP pods.
Will these pods fit my Caliburn G3?
Yes. GPP Alpha pods are built for the Caliburn G Pod Platform, which covers the G3 series, G4 and G5 kits. Check your device manual if you're unsure of your exact model.
Can I use these pods with nic salts?
Yes, nic salts work well in all four resistances, particularly the 0.9ohm and 1.2ohm options for a tighter mouth-to-lung draw.
How long does one pod last?
It depends on your e-liquid, wattage and how often you vape, but the AlphaCore coil is designed to outlast a standard GPP pod before flavour starts to fade.
Why has my new pod got a burnt taste?
This is almost always caused by not priming the pod before first use. Let it stand for 5 to 10 minutes after filling so the coil has time to soak through fully.
Do I need to buy a coil separately?
No. The coil is built into the pod. When flavour fades or the pod runs low, you replace the whole pod.
Is the 4ml XL version available here?
No, we only stock the 2ml version, as the 4ml XL pod exceeds the UK TPD tank capacity limit and cannot legally be sold in this country.
What's the difference between the four resistances?
Lower resistances (0.4ohm, 0.6ohm) give a looser draw and more vapour, better suited to restricted-lung vaping. Higher resistances (0.9ohm, 1.2ohm) give a tighter draw closer to mouth-to-lung, suited to nic salts.
Can I mix e-liquid brands in the same pod?
It's best to empty and rinse a pod before switching to a very different e-liquid flavour, otherwise leftover liquid can muddy the new flavour for the first few fills.
My pod is leaking. What should I do?
Check the mouthpiece has clicked fully shut after filling, and avoid overfilling past the max line. If leaking continues on a properly fitted pod, it may be faulty.
Can I use freebase e-liquid instead of nic salts?
Yes, lower-strength freebase e-liquid works fine, particularly in the 0.4ohm and 0.6ohm pods which are built for a warmer, higher-vapour style.
Do these pods work with the Caliburn G5 Lite?
Yes, GPP Alpha pods are built for the wider Caliburn G Pod Platform, which includes G5 Lite variants alongside the standard G5, G4 and G3 range.
How do I know when to replace a pod?
Look out for a drop in flavour, a burnt or muted taste that priming doesn't fix, or reduced vapour production. At that point, it's time for a fresh pod.
